Up until now we have supported our partners in the automotive industry, trucking and off-road domains with Magic Formulae models and the TameTire model. With Canopy we can now offer you the best lap time simulation, chassis set up and tire optimizer on the market.

TameTire
TameTire can provide an accurate description of the transient mechanical and thermal behavior of a tire. It calculates the forces and moments acting on the tire under pure and combined slip conditions and according to the tire operating conditions.
TameTire can be used in a full vehicle dynamic simulation within off-line simulation environments as well as within driver/hardware in the loop environments.
Canopy Simulations
The Canopy platform provides advanced laptime simulation, vehicle modelling and setup exploration in record time, using the power of cloud computing and our proprietary collocation solver.
We also provide the same state-of-the-art vehicle model used by our motorsport simulations to customers for use in their driver-in-the-loop simulators. Our platform can also have other applications, such as in the design and optimisation of sailing boats.

For the last year, Canopy and TameTire teams have been hard at work building “TameTire Dynamic Lap”: a full thermo-mechanical, TameTire-in-the-loop Canopy car model and simulation suite.
TameTire Dynamic Lap unifies high-fidelity thermo-mechanical tire physics with Canopy’s advanced simulation platform into a single, seamless environment. This is a full, faithful representation of TameTire physics inside Canopy Simulation suite: Dynamic Lap, including Multi-Lap and SLS, as well as Constraints, V4P, Tyre Replay, Thermal Replay, StraightSim, and all the other tools you’ve come to know and rely on from Canopy.
It delivers a native, out-of-the-box integration across lap time simulation, DiL, and exploration tools—eliminating complexity while maximizing accuracy and speed. By leveraging one common model, engineers can transfer correlation and setup work instantly between simulation environments, accelerating performance development. This enables confident decision-making, from concept exploration to race-weekend setup, under real-world conditions. As part of Michelin Simulation Services, this solution reflects a broader ambition to unify world-class technical capabilities under one umbrella—creating simpler, user-friendly, and technology-driven solutions for next-generation simulation.
